March 21/14: Beehive By Aganetha Dyck
Aganetha is a Canadian Artist who is interested in environmental issues and one of the arts and sculpture she develops is the body of beehive. She is interested in living things and wishes to experience that honeybees should disappear from the environment. Dyck collaborates with bees to create beautiful sculptures covered in honey comb, which is very interested and caught my eye because i have never heard or seen sculptures wrapped in honeycomb. The media of the sculpture she uses is eye-catching because of the texture when viewing the images and the color against the yellow honey comb that compliments the pieces, an example are the light tones of color that blends.

In the article the three approaches of creating amazing art, and using ordinary objects catch many audiences because it is really fascinating. The picture that is shown are the carvings that are done on eggs just my using a carving tool but you can see how beautiful the details they carve take time. Just like the art assignment we had of creating sculptures out of crayons, Mizuta and Kato divide their pencil into 4 basic types. The pencil carvings are very interesting and eye catching because of it's intricate details. The caring process requires delicacy due to the thin wood barriers and the graphite that surrounds the pencil. The last sculpture is used out of books to creates and perform autopsies that creates a three dimensional look.

April 24/14: Blue Trees Installation
The Blue Trees Installation was created by Konstantin Dimopoulo's public art creation. His art installation became apart of an international conversation on deforestation and global impact. Due to the loss of many trees after the hurricane and drought he decided to launch this project. Many young kids volunteered, the tree trunks were painted a vibrant shade of blue in order to create a bright contrast with the blue. By transforming living trees into blue giants, Dimopoulos elevates their role in our lives from everyday landscape to objects of appreciation. An ephemeral work, the trees will gradually revert back to their natural state over a six-month period. His way of helping out globally was to create an art installation that was soo beautiful to help out with the affects in our environment.
